26 member Dr Lucy Maddox published her book A Year To Change Your Mindat the end of last year. Lucy is a clinical psychologist and the book aims to share ideas from the therapy room that can help us all to live better.  An abridged version of the book has just come out on BBC Sounds, read by Lucy.

26’s membership and website manager Lauren McMenemy will host a virtual conference all about WitchLit.

Join Lauren’s Society of Ink Slingers for a special day of online talks, workshops and interviews with those writing about witches—and practising as witches in the modern world. It’s timed for the UK afternoon and the US East Coast morning, but will be recorded if you can’t make it live. Writing the Occult: Witches happens on Saturday, 12 August 2023, from 1pm UK / 8am NYC / 10pm Sydney time via Zoom.

Guests include acclaimed writers, poets and witches Claire Askew and Alice Tarbuck; novelist Stacey Thomas, whose witch-hunting historical fiction debut The Revels is out next month; former academic and award-nominated writer Tiffani Angus, co-author of Spec Fic for Newbies; and tarot writer and workshop facilitator Chelsey Pippin Mizzi. Lauren herself will kick off proceedings with a look at the witch trope in popular culture.

Whether you’re writing fantasy, horror, or fairytales; whether you’re building worlds in fiction or creative non-fiction; whether you’re a writer or just an interested party, they’d love to see you there. Full details and tickets are at writingtheoccult.carrd.co
