Trade Secrets Training: Social media for freelance writers and your clients

Want to understand how to use Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn to raise your profile and win business as a freelance writer? Want to help your clients with their social media content too?

In this workshop, we’ll start with a quick brainstorm to establish where you want your business to go next, and how social media can help you get there. Then we’ll consider the pros and cons of different social media platforms.

You’ll learn how to use free tools to:

• find out more about your audience
• understand the best times to post social media content
• schedule content even when you’re not around
• create a content calendar
• discover what works best for you and your clients.

We’ll talk about content, style and strategy. We’ll have a look at copywriters who have social media down to a fine art. We’ll discuss blogs and video, and throw in a bit about Instagram and Pinterest too.

Michelle Nicol will be sharing tips and tricks from her own adventures in using social media to build her freelance copywriting and training business, as well as her experience in leading the 26 Characters Social Media team.

And afterwards, please join us at the Betsey Trotwood pub next door for a spot of writerly networking and catching up.
