We just had a couple of small announcements, but with a wonderfully full page of member’s news this month, I didn’t want to further crowd the field with any notes from 26.
Firstly, as went around in a members email earlier this month, we now have a new date and time for a celebratory Zoom for the 26 Neurodiversity project: Wednesday 5 February from 6-7pm (UK time).
You can register to join the Zoom session here, and fingers crossed all those who were keen to join can make it on this date. It will be lovely to see you and celebrate the project!

Meanwhile, over in New Zealand, we’ve heard that Forest & Bird (the Kiwi equivalent of our Wildlife Trusts) are making a feature of 26 Plants in their Autumn issue, in aid of a new climate campaign. Over the next year, they are focussing on 50+ species and places at risk of climate change and explaining what people can do to help them survive and thrive. As well as some New Zealand additions (a story about Whangamarino focusing on the swamp helmet orchid), they will include some 26 essays, poems, and illustrations, and reference the wider 26 project/Bloomsbury festival too.
This might be one of the longest after-lives from a 26 project, beautifully kept alive by a certain John Simmons in particular…
