Three ways to give a TED talk

Fresh from delivering a 17 minute, 50 second speech at TEDx Ealing on 26, storytelling and Throwaway Lines, Martin Lee reveals his secrets

1. Speak from the heart. TED encourage talks that are very personal and are drawn from somewhere inside, rather than just the easy veneer of professionalism.

2. Expect the audience to be on your side. Because they are. It helps you to relax when you believe this.

3. Be humble. TED is bigger than you are, so it pays to respect their rules, especially sticking to time (18 minutes maximum), and not selling or proselytising from their platform.
