It began as an informal chat over a couple of drinks in The Betsey Trotwood last year. Today, it’s a master plan lovingly captured in an Excel spreadsheet. Come October, Throwaway Lines will morph into throwaway art as The Free Word Centre hosts our exhibition, ‘From Litter to Litterature’.
Thanks to Elise Valmorbida, we’ve secured a one-month slot to adorn its walls with framed scraps of handwritten rubbish. And thanks to friends, and friends of friends, we now have 15 top designers randomly paired with scraps and tasked with creating their frames. The brief is simple. Each frame needs to take its visual cue from the scrap or story it inspired.
The show opens on Monday 29th October and we’re hosting a free launch event on Thursday 1st November. Hold the date in your diary. We’ll be there from 5.30pm to 9pm. It would be lovely if you can come along. Numbers are limited though, so please book your place in advance by emailing me, Andy Hayes, at firstname.lastname@example.org. Thanks.
