Last month, Rachel Marshall stepped away from the position of 26’s website and membership manager to develop her own business.
She leaves behind a strong legacy. Evidence of her hard work and dedication is everywhere – in the website, in the membership database and in the history of 26 which she has contributed so much to. We wish her all the best in the future and hope she comes back to tell us all about her new project soon!
And now, she’s handed the keys over to me. Hello everyone! I’m Richard – the new website and membership manager for 26.
I recognise that I have some big shoes to fill. I’m excited. I’m nervous. If I think about it too much, my stomach feels like a bottle full of bees…
So, who am I?
I’m Richard Axtell. I’m a game designer and children’s writer. My favourite colour is a deep ocean blue. One of my feet is size ten and the other is size nine and a half, but I can never remember which foot is which. I’m not very good at writing introductions because I sometimes include facts which aren’t important. I’m allergic to almonds.
I found 26 through Francesca Baker. We work together at Lapidus International and she told me of this brilliant writing organisation that was looking for a website and membership manager; she thought that, being a writer and a techy type, I might like it.
I did like it. Now I’m here. I hope I can honour Rachel’s legacy as 26 continues to grow.
