Every ‘I’ has been dotted, the ‘Ts’ have been crossed. The books are printed, the exhibition hung and the project website is ready to be unveiled. Plenty of updates from our Cornwall contingent.
The book is hot off the press. Luke Thompson (contributing writer of T for Tywardreath as well as book wizard) has worked with a team of Falmouth students to create a fabulous design. It also happens to be 26cm x 26cm – we couldn’t resist. Take a look atJulia’s reel for a sneak peek.
Livvy and Sophie, two of the photographers and students of Falmouth University have done an amazing job mounting the A-Z of photographs on the boards. These will be hung in the gallery space with the poem on acetate underneath.
The exhibition runs from 28 February until 4 March, 10am-5pm at the The Poly in Falmouth and is free to enter.
Lauren McMenemy, 26’s new website guru (and contributor on this project for Delabole), has been working on the project website, which will be live from the beginning of the exhibition.
This will have the image, sestude and essay for each place as well as a brilliant essay exploring the Cornish language and place names (written in English and Cornish).
From 28 February, there will be a daily tweet about the project by 26, highlighting a different place, writer and photographer combination each day from A–Z.
Please do get involved with comments, retweets and generally making some noise. Let’s fill Twitter with Cornish places!
