I partnered with the brilliances at Accept and Proceed to create the AWO brand for a gang of data rights lawyers and pioneers who are defending and extending democratic controls. Some of them previously brought down Cambridge Analytica. They’re going to make more news in the future.
The brand is influenced by Richard Brautigan’s 1967 Caltech poem ‘All Watched Over by Machines of Loving Grace’. The typography is a mix of concrete poetry and computer code. I was thinking a lot about mythological origin stories when I wrote the ads.
