We’re delighted to invite 26 members to a special Zoom event on Wednesday 5 April at 7pm (UK time) in association with international writers’ group Dark Angels.
We’ll be celebrating the publication of Dark Angels: Three Contemporary Poets by Paekakariki Press. The three poets are Therese Kieran, Tim Rich and John Simmons, all well-known to 26 members through projects, with Tim and John also being among the founders of 26.
What makes this event special is that it will be a joint gathering for Dark Angels and 26 members, co-hosted by Neil Baker and Martin Clarkson. Therese, Tim and John will give readings from the book, as well as being in conversation with Neil and Martin. It promises to be a poetry event different from any other.
If you’d like to enhance your enjoyment by reading the book in advance, you can buy a copy here direct from the independent publisher Paekakariki. It’s an elegant book produced by traditional typesetting and printing. It’s also available on Amazon but we’d prefer to support independent publishing to make sure more such books can be published in the future. This will be the first in a planned series.
Having opened the doors to a wider group, we’re also encouraging you to invite a plus one guest to the occasion. It’s a great way to introduce someone to the joys of 26 – and it’s all free. You will just need to register in advance, and forward this email to your guest so they can register too. We will send Zoom links to all those interested.
How can we write more freely, humanely, expressively at work? Dark Angels began in 2004, helping writers in the business world to answer those questions through their own writing. Using techniques from fiction and poetry, writers emerge from Dark Angels courses with a deep commitment to craft and personal writing. As a result, many have become novelists and poets. https://darkangelswriters.com
