I’m in Aarhus, doing some work for the Aarhus 2017 European Capital of Culture programme. There are several projects within Aarhus 2017 that are about words and literature. One in particular might be of interest to 26 members. It’s called 365Texts. It is the brainchild of Robert Skovmose Christensen, director of an annual sound and literature festival in Denmark. He became interested in the debate about non-traditional publishing, but took a decidedly analogue, as opposed to digital route, by arranging for specially-commissioned literary texts to be engraved on benches, hung on street banners, or executed in other environmental media in public spaces. The 365 project focuses on fiction, and will expand to include poetry soon.
