26 elves have been beavering away writing Christmas poems to match illustrations drawn by children involved in two charities – Teenage Cancer Trust and Its Good 2 Give. Come 1st December Santa’s sleigh will be heaving with on-line advent calendars of Christmas poems lit up by twinkling festive pictures.
It’s been far too sunny a September to be thinking of Christmas but that’s exactly what our writers have been up to. They’ve delivered 26 corking Yuletide sestudes to match the pictures that have been drawn by children involved in our two worthy charities. We had some terrible news during the project this month – two of the children who had drawn for us lost their fight with cancer. It really brought home how much work our chosen charities do for people who are having absolutely the worst time of their lives. On a happier note, The Teenage Cancer Trust has chosen three of the pictures to produce as Christmas cards – they’ve already gone off to the printer and will be available soon. We’re so looking forward to 1st December when we’ll unveil our online Christmas advent calendar, awash with naughty gnomes, sparkling Christmas trees and even musical reindeer. Get out your best Christmas sweater – Santa is on his way!
