About me

tom@abccopywriting.com

I’m a copywriter trading as ABC Copywriting and based in Norwich. I work for several local firms plus others across the UK and a few internationally too. I also serve agencies and do quite a lot of academic work – editing and rewriting articles and teaching cases.

I started out in non-fiction publishing as an editor, before repurposing myself as a writer when I got made redundant. So I’m more of a long-copy, content-organising sort of copywriter, as opposed to a creative, idea-generating copywriter. I’m better at “sober and professional” than “kooky and funny”, making me well suited to B2B writing and anything where a complex message has to be made as clear as possible.

I’ve worked for several digital agencies and a major affiliate network, as well as quite a few search agencies, so I know the digital side of things quite well. I also built my own site and do the SEO for it myself, which often helps me provide small-scale digital marketing assistance to SMEs or sole traders.

I write a lot about copywriting, SEO and marketing at my blog. Outside work I like running, gardening and curry-making.
