Writer & Communications Consultant
I’m a writer, communications consultant and one of the founders of 26. I work across three broad areas:
I help organisations to transform how they speak and write about themselves, developing better ways for them to stand out through language. I write high profile communications that set a new direction. I can also assemble and direct expert teams across areas such as communications strategy, brand language research and tone of voice training.
I help the leaders of companies to communicate through crises or profound change. I worked with BP during and after the Gulf of Mexico accident and oil spill; KPMG in the wake of Enron; Ericsson after it made the biggest loss in Swedish history; MFI when it was close to collapse; and Land Securities during the dramatic downturn in property values. I’ve also advised numerous organisations on specific communication issues. For example, I’m currently advising Ladbrokes as it responds to criticism about the betting industry, and I’m helping a FTSE 100 business integrate sustainability into its strategic communications.
I work on creative projects with an array of small businesses and entrepreneurs, agencies and consultancies, charities, publishers, app developers, artists and other writers. In other strands of my life, I’ve edited magazines, written a monthly column about design and a book about football, developed a documentary film on violence and mental health, and reviewed the newspapers on Radio Four.
That’s probably enough about me. Please get in touch if you’d like to talk.
