Most business writing doesn’t work. Why? Because no one really reads it. Why? Because it’s boring.
Sorry, but it’s true.
People read what interests them. If they don’t read it, there’s no point writing it. Here’s the answer – Make Things Interesting. Do some serious research, tell the story and move heaven and earth to create something amazing.
The best job I’ve ever done was for a sewage processing company in Macclesfield. Not the most promising subject for great copy, but we found an angle, it won awards, it made the front page of The Times business section and it made people smile. Just as importantly it doubled the company’s turnover in 12 months without any additional marketing spend.
