I suppose I’ve been a habitual writer since I was a child. But I only started to find my voice as a writer on hillside in Andalusia. I was with a group of writers on a Dark Angels retreat and we were all exploring, expanding, extending, into and around our writing. Not long after that my first book was published, a memoir of teaching my widowed father to cook called Cooking without Recipes. More recently, in 2020 my first novel was published. Daniel, at sea (Exhampton Press) is is both an elegy for a lifetime of grief and a celebration of the importance of being true to ourselves. I am currently in the early stages of researching my second novel. While doing this, I run a landscaping business, designing and planting gardens on the edges and ledges of London buildings.
