That's me: short, balding, glasses, easily overlooked.

Except when I'm on my unicycle. As attention-seeking strategies go, that one's infallible.

And this is what I do.

I'm a copywriter living in the East Midlands. No specialisms – my clients range from self-employed start-ups to global players – although I do loads of work for the building trade and for food processors. I'm not fussy: I'll write anything from a sports-day sick note to a grovelling apology for unfinished homework.

If I could pick and choose, I'd do more museum work (right now – March 2010 – I'm writing a guide to The Workhouse, a National Trust property in Nottinghamshire), more corporate style guides, and more supermarket packaging (nothing beats the buzz of walking down the aisles and watching your copy tumble from shelf to trolley).

You'll find these bottles and cartons on a supermarket shelf near you. Make me feel good: toss them into your trolley next time you see them.

More trumpet-blowing:
