Writing Britain
Exhibition at the British Library
It’s all about how writers and places are linked, the importance of particular landscapes and locations to British writers. This ranges from the Green Knight to the Satanic Mills to Simon Armitage’s stanzas on Yorkshire stones. You get to see the writers’ manuscripts including John Lennon’s original words to “In my life” – and you can put the headphones on to hear the music while you read. Not to be missed. Interesting that 26 had its “Common Ground” project a few years ago with a very similar premise. John Simmons
John Simmons also recommends Gatz. Receiving fantastic reviews across the board you can read John’s personal experience of this epic theatre extravaganza on his blog: 26 Fruits
