26 events range from the practical to the poetical and most things in between. We hope to give you an insight into the way people and companies use words in very different ways, and who knows, even give you a soupcon of inspiration. It's also a chance to catch up with fellow 26ers, and perhaps go for a drink or a bite afterwards.
We aim to host one event every month, and we're always happy to hear your suggestions for future talks, debates or readings. Perhaps you'd like to get your hands dirty and organise one yourself under the 26 umbrella? If you do, please get in touch with us via events@26.org.uk.

PETER FIRMIN

When: 06 September 2010
Where: TBA

The first of two major 26 events coming up in the early autumn involves Peter Firmin, the legendary illustrator and animator who worked alongside Oliver Postgate on Ivor the Engine, the Clangers, Bagpuss and the Saga of Noggin the Nog. Together, they formed one of the greatest storytelling partnerships that Britain has ever produced. So we're very happy he's coming to talk to us. Details of the venue are being firmed up, but there may be an interesting twist. How's that for tantalising? Please keep the date free and watch this space.

26 ANNUAL LECTURE

When: 21 October 2010
Where: British Library, Euston Road, London, NW1

And here's another date to keep free at all costs. The 26 Annual Lecture is not just a chance to hear from a great speaker, but the real social highlight of the 26 calendar. Our guest this year is Howard Jacobson, author, journalist, broadcaster and cultural commentator. We'll be announcing details of how to book tickets later in the summer. Look forward to seeing some, nay most, nay all, of you there.
